Cannistraro is Inducted into MBC Hall of Fame

23-Oct-2009 Each year, the Massachusetts Building Congress recognizes outstanding achievements in the Boston construction industry at its annual Hall of Fame Awards Reception.  This year J.C. Cannistraro, LLC is proud to accept the Hall of Fame Award for its commitment to technology, collaborative building efforts and its dedication to the community.

As a pioneer for Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the Northeast, Cannistraro continues to revolutionize construction methodology.  The firm was an integral part of New England’s first Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team, where it performed the mechanical systems for Autodesk’s AEC Headquarters.  The company is currently implementing advanced 4D and 6D modeling techniques at a Boston area hospital by bridging the construction schedule and facilities management solution with the model.

In addition to its innovative business practices, Cannistraro was recognized for its role in the community.  The company maintains a dynamic mentoring program that encourages college students to gain hands-on experience within the business of construction.  Cannistraro has employed more than twenty co-op students in the past four years from Boston-area institutions such as Wentworth Institute of Technology (a fellow 2009 Hall of Fame Award winner), many of whom have stayed on full-time after graduation.  The company has also led the charge as an advocate for The Plumbing Museum, encouraging trade schools and others to learn about the plumbing industry by reflecting on the past.
